How to grow your social media account as an artist

Hello artists!

Welcome/welcome back to my blog. I hope you had a fantastic week full of love and happiness.

In today’s post I want to give you tips on how to get your art noticed on social media like Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, etc...

As an artist, social media can be an incredibly powerful tool in growing your brand and gaining exposure for your work.

Let’s jump right in!

(Please keep in mind that this post is not sponsored)

1. Set clear goals and know your audience

If you want to grow your social media presence, you need to start by defining your goals and audience. Identify who your ideal follower is and how you want to reach them. Do you want to showcase your work to clients, gain visibility for potential deals, contracts, or just connect with other artists in your field?

You must create your content and communication style accordingly by researching topics and thinking outside the box.

Ask yourself these questions:

- What am I interested in?

- What are other artists interested in?

- How can I combine things I am interested in and things others like?

- How can I make it original and creative?

2. Keep a consistent Posting Schedule

Consistency is key when it comes to building a following on social media. Create a content calendar and stick to it. Whether you post once a day or once a week, make sure your followers know when to expect new content from you.

However, don’t let your schedule burn you out! Leave breaks in your timetable and do something else.

3. Engage with your audience

Social media is about building relationships, so it's crucial to engage with your followers. Reply to comments, hold contests or giveaways and share content from your followers whenever possible. If you’re looking to expand your reach, collaborate with other artists and influences within your niche/interests.

4. Use hashtags

Hashtags are a great way to reach new audiences and get discovered on social media. Use them wisely and consistently in your posts. Take advantage of the tag feature to give credit to other people/artists when credit is due and increase your visibility to followers and non-followers alike.

5. Originality is key

Don’t forget to mix up and get creative with what you post. Showcase your work, but also post behind-the-scenes shots, progress shots, and other personal content to keep your followers engaged.

By sharing a mix of personal and professional content, original ideas and ongoing projects, people are more likely to connect with you and your work on a deeper level.
